We are thrilled to welcome Adam Cooper to the ID2020 team as Chief Architect. Adam will play a lead role in overseeing the technical elements of our pilot projects, as well as defining and drafting technical requirements, principles, and standards to make portable, user-centric, privacy-protecting digital identity a reality.
Adam has garnered widespread recognition for his expertise in identity standards, enterprise architecture, and the digital sector. At the UK Cabinet Office, and subsequently Government Digital Service, Adam assumed responsibility for guiding the development of the Identity Assurance Architecture, eventually culminating in the GOV.UK Verify product. He has led efforts to enable cross-border eID in the EU, leveraged digital identity systems to increase KYC and AML compliance in the banking sector, and contributed significantly to international standards bodies such as ISO, the OpenID foundation and W3C.
Fundamental to ID2020’s mission is the development of technical requirements that protect individual privacy and support the needs of individuals and countries. Adam’s expertise will help to ensure this critical part of our mission, particularly as we approach the launch of our initial pilot projects.
